The core principle behind oxygen generation equipment is the selective separation of oxygen from other gases in the air. This is typically achieved through adsorption-based technologies like Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) or Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption (VPSA). In PSA systems, air is compressed and passed through an adsorbent material (e.g., zeolite molecular sieve) that captures nitrogen and other impurities under pressure, allowing oxygen to pass through. The adsorbent is then regenerated by reducing the pressure, releasing the captured nitrogen.   Stationary Oxygen Concentrators: These are larger units designed for home or fixed-site use. They provide a continuous supply of oxygen and are suitable for patients requiring long-term oxygen therapy.

Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POCs): These compact and lightweight devices are designed for on-the-go use. POCs can provide oxygen concentrations of 90% or higher, with flow rates ranging from 1 to 5 liters per minute. Many POCs have been certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for use on airplanes.
