What Should Be Done for Air Compressor Maintenance?

Time:2025-08-20 17:31:41

Air compressor maintenance is a systematic work, with the core purpose of ensuring the safe, stable, and efficient operation of equipment, extending its service life, and reducing overall operating costs.

What should be done for daily inspections:

Check the oil level: In the shutdown state, check whether the lubricating oil level is near the centerline of the sight glass.
Discharge condensed water: Open the drain valve below the air storage tank, dryer, and pipeline filter to discharge the condensed liquid water.
Observe operating parameters:
Pressure: Check if the exhaust pressure is normal and stable.
Temperature: Observe whether there is any abnormal increase in exhaust temperature and unit operating temperature.
Current/Voltage: Check if the operating current of the main motor is within the rated range and if the voltage is stable.
Listen for sound and observe vibration: Listen for any abnormal impact, friction, or leakage "hissing" sounds during operation; Observe for any abnormal vibrations.
Check for leaks: Conduct a simple inspection of pipelines and interfaces for any obvious air leaks.

Maintenance program:

Air filter (air filter): 2000 hours or less.
Oil filter (oil filter): changed after 2000 hours or with oil.
Oil and gas separator (oil separation core): 3000-8000 hours.
Lubricating oil (engine oil): 2000-8000 hours (depending on the oil type).
Belt (belt type model): inspection/replacement.
Cooling unit cleaning (air-cooled/water-cooled): annually or as appropriate.

ORMD air compressor professional maintenance

Annual inspection:
For devices with longer running times (such as over 8000-10000 hours), a more comprehensive inspection is required.

Safety valve calibration: Ensure that it can reliably trip and release pressure when overpressure occurs.
Pressure gauge calibration: Ensure accurate pressure readings.
Electrical system inspection: Tighten all electrical wiring terminals and check the contacts of contactors and relays.
Motor bearings: Add lubricating grease.
Maintenance of minimum pressure valve, temperature control valve, intake valve, etc.: Clean or replace to ensure their normal function.
System leakage detection: Use professional instruments to detect leakage points throughout the entire system.
Main engine bearings: Check or replace. For high hour equipment, it is necessary to check the clearance of the main engine bearings.
